Michelle Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton will headline the first two nights pf the Democratic National Convention, accordng to a statement from the Convention organizers. The Convention will take place August 25-28 in Denver, Colorado. As is customary, the Vice-Presidential nominee will speak on the 27th and Obama will make his nomination acceptance speech on the last night of the convention at the city's famous Mile-High stadium.
For months we've heard John Edwards deny rumors that he had an affair with Rielle Hunter. He's also denied being the father of Hunter's baby. Today, he revealed that he did, after all, have an affair with Hunter but continues to deny paternity. The blogosphere is buzzing.

This week, just in time for the panel on which I will be speaking at BlogHer (Race and Gender: What are the lessons of 2008) the political universe goes and plops down a gift wrapped race and gender intersectionality political issue for me to blog.
"There is one man who knows and understands that this is a time for bold leadership. There is one man that knows how to create the change, the lasting change, that you have to build from the ground up. ..There is one man who knows in his heart there is time to create one America, not two ... and that man is Barack Obama."-former Presidential candidate John Edwards.
Edwards endorsed Senator Barack Obama at a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, also taking time to praise Senator Hillary Clinton's candidacy.

It is the day after the national observance/celebration of Martin Luther King's birthday. If it were not for PBS and Oprah's special yesterday, barely a blip on the media landscape would have appeared. Granted, Obama did deliver a stunning speech at King's Ebeneezer Baptist church. Edwards also spoke and got a letter from MLK III thanking him for hs work, and Bill Clinton fell asleep in front of cameras during a speech about MLK.
