I'm just getting started with BlogHer and am trying to figure out when to post here vs. when to post on my blog.
When do you all generally post here versus just posting on your own blog?
Is it okay to cross post (i.e. post here and post on my blog) or is that a no-no?
If it is okay to cross post, would you just put particularly interesting posts on BlogHer or do people copy and paste all of their posts here?
Thanks for helping me find my way...

Blogging on BlogHer
This is a great question and I'm sorry it has taken me so long to answer.
The simple answer is, it's really up to you! I can, however, give you some tips, based on reading every blog post on BlogHer.com that's been published over the last two years. :-)
I recommend a mixture of full cross posting, full posts exclusive to BlogHer.com and teasers with links to the full posts on your personal blog.
In all cases, leave a signature line that entices people to your blog, to read more. A signature line has to be typed/copied and pasted every time but it is really worth it. Trust me, I've analyzed this for ages. (It's why almost all of our CEs leave a signature line on their posts.)
If you decide to write a teaser on BlogHer.com to a post that's on your blog, make that teaser really good. The better the tease, the more likely people are to click.
If you're cross posting a full post, please do say "cross posted on "your blog" either at the top or the bottom of the post.
The reason I recommend a mix, is because I want you to develop a following. Some really great, full posts will help you do that. Then, you can post some teasers with links to the rest of the post. Then, post some more full posts. Mix it up. Develop that following. Get noticed.
Also, one more tip - please don't post more than three blog posts a day on BlogHer.com. Flooding the "all posts" tab won't get you any followers, it will only feel like spam. Give readers a good post and then come back again in a day or two and give them another.
(And don't forget to read some posts on BlogHer.com and leave some comments - others will respond in kind!)

I was wondering about stimulating some interest in my posts here and in my own site. I'm still trying to figure out where my bizarre brand of humor and politics fits in...I will have to do much more browsing here.
