... found a good explanation. A destination blog would be a good addition to the online travel section of a newspaper. Hmm... a much more refined Place Shout? or maybe the Place Shout entry could include a link to the destination blog. Talk about viral and hitting different audiences...

Agreed. My ideal location blog would probably be a combination of the two - placeblogging primarily for people who live in the area or were interested in events in the area (due to some large newsworthy event) and destination blogging for those planning to visit, for business or vacation purposes.

I agree. I didn't even realize that placeblogging had a name! I've wanted my blog to be like that, but the closest I could think of was travel blogging and that wasn't quite right. Thanks for clearing it up
