And I think I'm all alone in the blogosphere - perhaps the world!

I should be writing my About Page, but instead I've spent almost two
hours surfing the web, looking for companions in my unique parenting
journey. I can't find anyone who is married, with a single adopted child, adopted when Mom was over 40, in an open domestic adoption.

I’m sitting here with a largish bruise on my left shoulder and several scrapes and cuts along my legs because I fell on my bike today. I would say that I fell off my bike but that wouldn’t necessarily be true because when I went over I was still very much seated on my bike. Or at least I had my feet firmly clipped onto the pedals of my bike because when the light turned red and I was suddenly required to stop?

Lots of adults know about the Universal Law of Attraction. They may have either seen it on 'the Secret DVD' or heard Oprah speaking with the 'Abraham Hicks' duo,' or mentioned during one of her web classes with, Eckhart Tolle, - well the wait is over!

The world expects you to pick a religion and stick to it, but when you grow up in a multi-religion family, the choice is difficult, especially when the choices are Southern Baptist and Latter-Day Saint (Mormon).  When you finally come to that big choice, is the world even ready for it?

Your Barbie movies have been a part of our household for the past 4
years.  Dancing princesses, princesses and paupers, fairies and
mermaids….all of these have been embraced by my two daughters with
complete and utter adoration.  My girls sing the songs, they dance
along, they wish for magic lands and sparkly adventures.

In August, I did a little fundraising experiment that involved Twitter and an integrated offline component at the Gnomedex Conference in Seattle.  I was able to raise $2,657 to cover the costs of college tuition for Leng Sopharath, an orphan in Cambodia in just 90 minutes. By the end of the conference, the total had climbed to $3,774.

The first time you open up on the internet is always the hardest.  When you choose to be honest and be that person that you're so proud of being on your own on the internet, you open yourself to criticism, to anger, and to acceptance, among many things.

 I've never really felt like I belonged in this oversized body of mine.  But somehow I came up with every excuse in the book to not do anything about it.  Recently I read two books that changed my life.  I guess it was more inspiration than anything but I read these weight loss memoirs and I see that first of all I am not as big as they were but I have the same emotional baggage that I think we all share at one time or another.
