Native Americans and the 2008 election

According to the 2000 Census, Native Americans are only 1.5 percent of the US population, but their participation in this year's presidential election might be especially important. American Indians are a critical voting bloc in several swing states, according to a recent study.

Tales of a 36 Year Old Virgin, Chapter 15 - This Woman's Work

"I don't know what it is, but, there's something that goes on between women. You men know that because it's the same for you. I'm not saying one sex is better than the other. I'm just saying, like speaks to like. Love, or whatever, doesn't always keep, so you find out what does, if you're lucky."

I'm an Older, Married, Adoptive Mother with a Domestic Open Adoption of a Single Child MommyBlogger!

And I think I'm all alone in the blogosphere - perhaps the world!

I should be writing my About Page, but instead I've spent almost two
hours surfing the web, looking for companions in my unique parenting
journey. I can't find anyone who is married, with a single adopted child, adopted when Mom was over 40, in an open domestic adoption.

Face? Meet pavement. (Or how I know I'm not Lance Armstrong)

Face? Meet pavement. (Or how I know I'm not Lance Armstrong)

I’m sitting here with a largish bruise on my left shoulder and several scrapes and cuts along my legs because I fell on my bike today. I would say that I fell off my bike but that wouldn’t necessarily be true because when I went over I was still very much seated on my bike. Or at least I had my feet firmly clipped onto the pedals of my bike because when the light turned red and I was suddenly required to stop?

Law of Attraction for Teens/Kids & Parents

.

MY novel, SPIRIT BOY, is unique. People learn through example, not necessarily through self help books.

The Law of Attraction is available for Teens, Kids and their Parents

Lots of adults know about the Universal Law of Attraction. They may have either seen it on 'the Secret DVD' or heard Oprah speaking with the 'Abraham Hicks' duo,' or mentioned during one of her web classes with, Eckhart Tolle, - well the wait is over!

My Life as a Convert

My Life as a Convert

The world expects you to pick a religion and stick to it, but when you grow up in a multi-religion family, the choice is difficult, especially when the choices are Southern Baptist and Latter-Day Saint (Mormon).  When you finally come to that big choice, is the world even ready for it?

A Letter to Mattel

A Letter to Mattel

Dear Mattel,

Your Barbie movies have been a part of our household for the past 4
years.  Dancing princesses, princesses and paupers, fairies and
mermaids….all of these have been embraced by my two daughters with
complete and utter adoration.  My girls sing the songs, they dance
along, they wish for magic lands and sparkly adventures.

Meet A Wired Fundraiser: Anne Jackson, FlowerDust

In August, I did a little fundraising experiment that involved Twitter and an integrated offline component at the Gnomedex Conference in Seattle.  I was able to raise $2,657 to cover the costs of college tuition for Leng Sopharath, an orphan in Cambodia in just 90 minutes. By the end of the conference, the total had climbed to $3,774.
