Sometimes I really feel like there is something or someone watching over me that is out there to keep me on track. Like when Jimmy Buffett sings "Margaritaville" to me over and over after a crazy night out. It just seems too coincidental to not be planned out somehow, ya know?
The hot new trend for moms is to put their kids photos in funny

My Yoga Online - As the busy and stressful holiday season approaches, it is important to examine your powerful emotions authentically with this new yoga article by Alexandra Goldwell, Registered Clinical Counsellor and yoga instructor.
A reader made an anonymous comment on my post 'Tis the Season that made me think "Am I forgetting what this season is all about? Am I ungrateful?" I think the answer is "yes and no."
The season for buying things with your hard earned money and giving them to other people has begun. Unfortunately for those who are getting presents from me, I am poor and will be giving HANDMADE presents out this year (whoa now, don’t get too excited!). This started with Jason’s birthday last week, which I baked a whole cake for. By myself.
Ok my Friends... What is wrong with this picture?
Right! ... the top left saying HAZARDOUS! HIGH LEVELS OF LEAD!... and then the bottom right basically saying: but its ok go ahead, "Buy from Amazon.com".
This picture is a screen grab from www.HealthyToys.Org . I learned of this site after hearing a story on the news about MANY Popular toys this holiday season being made with high levels of various dangerous chemicals, including but not Limited to: LEAD, MERCURY & ARSENIC! (what in the world is Arsenic doing toy factories anyway!?!?)
What peeked my interest particularly was when they named the"WALLE LEAPSTER 2", since we *JUST* purchased this item (along with all its accessories) on Black Friday for our 3 year old son (and got an awesome good deal on it too I might add!.... hmmm, maybe thats why?)
So I log on to the site.... and start searching toys... ofcourse starting with the WALLE LEAPSTER 2 (which by the way is listed under their "WORST TOYS"... Grreaat!) .... and I see the above image......
WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSE TO MEAN!?! Do I handle the toy with GLOVES and send it back immediately to the manufacturer all the while thinking of creative ways to tell my son "Santa can't bring the WallE Game this year because it just may kill you hunny!" (lol I kid, I kid.. Id never say that)...or do I say SCREW this site, they're all a bunch of quacks let me get ANOTHER LEAD LACED WALLE toy for my friends kid on Amazon?!?!
The site itself (if it does hold any validity) is SUPER informative. Great search options, easy to look up just your kids toys ... and over 1500 toys have been tested. You can even suggest other non-listed toys to be tested...Its worth Checking out...
But my question is- if these toys are made with such toxic chemicals that can cause (according to Healthytoys.org) harm to kidneys, lungs and even types of cancer... why haven't the manufacturers recalled these items? ... and furthermore, why in the world is the site affiliating itself with sites to BUY these "Toxic Toys"?
Remember this guy?
He was recalled with the big wave of Fisher Price toys last year for containing LEAD paint...Why hasn't the Leapster, and all the other many toys listed on HealthyToys.org been recalled??
As a parent, I am just a little confused. One of my pet peeves is how the news uses scare tactics to entice viewership. Most of the time its all blown out of proportion nonsense stories, if a story at all... but when it comes to my kids health... and the toys that he plays with every day... don't mess with my head! ...And the mixed messaging on Healthy Toys is totally messing with my head.
Visit the site (www.healthytoys.org) , look up your kids toys... be in the know...form your own parental opinion (which Id LOVE to hear if you have a chance).... in the meantime I need to ponder a little more over what to do with my son's "BIG WISH" toy from Santa.
My Little Darling got mauled by a
tiger the other day. And by "mauled by a tiger", I mean "miaowed at by
a cute puddy tat on the way home from school". It was a really friendly
cat, and I showed her how to let it sniff her hand and come to her, but
she was still backing off from it the closer it got. She adores dogs
and cats and most things animal-y but is still very nervous if they get
too close and I'm never sure, especially in the case of dogs how to
reassure her and tell her there's nothing to be scared of, while still
Let's get one thing straight before
we start. I do not hate my daughter, in fact she's the cutest,
funniest, most intelligent, most beautiful creature I have ever seen in
my entire life. I do, however, hate being a mum. I like to think of it
as having a job you really hate but love your co-workers - a situation
I have also been in in the past. Athough, thinking about it, my
colleagues back then didn't yell for me to wipe their bottoms after
going to the toilet, announce every fart in a really proud voice, or
Hi! I just started blogging on blogger but hate it, so I'm moving my posts over here! Pleased to meet you!
