Maria, a Peruvian living in San Francisco, describes her family upset and her aunt yelling obscenities at the election results.

This race is becoming to nerve wrecking for my family, my peruvian friends and myself. We are in the midst of a nervous breakdown. This is either the beginning of the end of Peru, or the begining of a more hopeful future.
Former president Alan Garcia looks to have pulled ahead of moderate conservative Lourdes Flores for 2nd place, and so will go up against front runner Ollanta Humala.
From Maria's blog you will get a good picture of what your average upper middle class Peruvian would think of the elections.
My own opinion is complicated... and not so well informed as I would like before I open my mouth. I am a leftist, very strongly, but am also against Ollanta.
