Mommyblogger Amanda of Mandajuice has decided to put her money where her blog is. She's started a new blog she's calling The Naked Ledger and with it she's putting to use her great and mighty personal financial consultant powers, which have been languishing unused since she quit her job last year to stay home with her cute-as-pie (seriously, you just want to eat him) son.
As the guru behind The Naked Ledger, Amanda confesses:
"After seven years as a personal financial consultant, I ditched the pantyhose to stay home with my toddler. I've written financial plans for more than 200 families and yet NEVER ONCE have I managed to successfully maintain my own family budget (much less actually FOLLOW it) for longer than a couple months. Now, I'm putting it all out there in an attempt to set myself straight by sheer force of the Internet. Watch me try!
Besides making us privy to her family's budget and spending habits, she's also going to answer a new financial question each week. This week she answers a question from a woman who has no credit cards and wonders if she should get one. Amanda tells her how to play it safe rather than sorry; her advice is honest and professional with a touch of spark (that's snark but with a p for professional) and wit.
Watch out Suze Orman, this mom's on the Internet talking cash, credit, and money market accounts like nobody's business. My bet is that Amanda definitely will benefit from putting it all out there and that her readers will, too.

Take me to the little French boutique,
Amanda!
Mary, terrific post. I have been waiting and waiting for Amanda to launch this blog, ever since she had this brainstorm in January. A combo mom-financial-advisor-blogger?
Nirvana.
