Anyone who has taken an Adveritisng 101 class knows there are some words that just reel people in: NOW,FREE,POWER,IMMEDIATE.
Then there are those additional words that crank my motor every time. One of those words is TRENDS, and so its no surprise when I saw Trendoffice on the Blogher Blogroll I felt compelled to check it out.
It didn't disappoint. Trendoffice is written by an interior designer/freelance writer in Sofia Bulgaria. The blog is part of a bigger trend which Trendoffice explains.
Trend watching is becoming a trend itself. The Trendwatching team encourages us - their readers - to start our own corporate TREND UNIT. This is a very natural development of the phenomenon - more and more people understand that watching trends is not only about fashion, but also a way of helping their own business. As TrendWatching.com successfully quotes Ian David, MD of McKinsey & Company: "Companies that ride the currents succeed; those that swim against them usually struggle. Identifying these currents and developing strategies to navigate them is vital."
Trendguide.com that Trendoffice refers to is community site that tracks global trends in everything from fashion, to industrial design.
trendguide.com is the e-voting platform (called the "dna of style") for new products and ideas and the global trendscout network. trendguide.com brings trends from the streets directly to the web by publishing uploaded digital cam or cellular-phone photos from users. here, site visitors decide what's hot or what's not by voting on uploaded pictures. trendguide.com is an inspiring shopping guide too as every picture on our site is linked with further information on the item and online order possibilities. the trendguide.com's central trend knowledge database (category rankings, archives and exclusive trend services) is accessible to all contributors. On the home page I found a product introduced by someone from Buenos Aires that was definitely talking to me. It's called The Thumbthing and the post says,
Thumbthing One Hand only.
A brilliant new invention for
reading books ? it makes
reading more comfortable.
Also use it as a bookmark.
Ideal for reading in bed, or in the bath or on the beach.
Great for commuters.
