Preparing for the Advanced Audio Lab
by mightymur

Hey BlogHer '07 attendees! I wanted to post some hints here for people who are interesting in attending the Advanced Audio Lab on Day 2 of BlogHer. As it's an advanced audio lab, we're not going to be covering the basics of podcasting. However, we don't want to turn anyone away, so if you are a beginner, I have some suggestions on how to get up to speed for when you come to our workshop.

Essentially, you need to have an understanding of RSS, finding a good host, MP3 compression, the proper tools to record, and ID3 tags: One of my favorite places for beginning podcasting advice is Podcast 411, the podcast that interviews other podcasters. The host, Rob Walch, has a list of tutorials that he has written, as well as links to many other tutorials. Rob was my co-author on Tricks of the Podcasting Masters, so I have faith that he won't steer you wrong.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask them in the comments and I'll answer what i can. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone who is interested in adding audio to their blog!
