So, there are TWO books about Hillary Clinton coming out, "Her Way," and "A Woman in Charge." Those titles reek of subtle misogyny. Actually, the first one sounds like how one might refer to a bossy cheerleader, and the second sounds like a Barbara Taylor Bradford novel. I searched the Internet, to see what feminist bloggers had written about the books, which just seem like blatantly mean, Kitty Kelley-esque tactics to drum up summer book sales…Happily, I didn’t find much. I did find lots of right-wing blogs' attempts to rile up the Clinton-haters.

Apparently, the books reveal that Hillary is ambitious and Bill was unfaithful. The Hotline blog sums it up well: “there’s no there there.” The Hotline continues with these "revelations":

Ooh -- HRC is ambitious. And ruthless. Ambitious people can be ruthless.

Ooh -- HRC fought to keep her family's private life private.

Ooh -- Bill Clinton had extramarital affairs.

Ooh -- the Clintons were worried about Whitewater.

Yawn. I’d rather read the new Barbara Taylor Bradford this weekend.

On a more serious note, Media Matters for America, has highlighted “Her Way” reporter Jeff Gerth’s supposed untruths and flawed reporting, primarily around an alleged Clinton plan for Bill and Hillary to attain office.

Gerth [is] the co-author of a soon-to-be-released book about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) titled Her Way: The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton (Little, Brown). On May 25, The Washington Post published the first news report based on the text of the book, which Gerth wrote with New York Times reporter Don Van Natta Jr. According to the Post, historian Taylor Branch, a key figure in the book's description of the Clintons' purported "secret pact of ambition," described the story as "preposterous."

Well, I have to quote the Wonkette, which had the funniest coverage of the whole stupid book thing yet, tongue firmly in cheek. Jeez, I can’t wait ‘til the mean Rudy Giuliani books come out.
