New York news videographer Sony Stark returned in December, 2005, from a three-month voyage around the world with 'Semester at Sea'. She wrote about her experience shooting a two-hour documentary in 10 countries with 700 students at crossthatbridge, a blog that she still maintains. While at sea, she dispatched articles back to GoNomad, as well as a rich collection of photos of the trip. She says on her personal website that she and GoNomad are "laying the groundwork for writing, producing, and directing a 13-episode travel show about adventure travel and volunteer work."
Stark's 2005 roster of destinations included Venezuela, Brazil, South Africa, Mauritius Island, India, Myanmar, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Japan, Hawaii, San Francisco, Dallas, Atlanta, Boston, NYC, and Quebec City.
Hopefully there is some videoblogging in her future, since her awards in her career as a news videographer include an Edward R. Murrow 1st Place Feature Reporting award and several New York State Emmys. She posts on all of her sites with wit, humor, a clear passion for seeing and experiencing the world, and obvious technical and creative skill.
