For a couple of years now I've spent much of my free time reading food blogs, but it's only recently I've started to realize how much I'm learning. Not only are a lot of my food questions being answered, but I'm learning things about food that I didn't even realize I wanted to know!
Barbara of Tigers and Strawberries has a lot of expertise in Asian cooking and recently she informed me about "What is the essential Vietnamese sauce?"
When I wondered "Is Frozen fish as good as fresh?" Helen of Beyond Salmon was there with an answer.
Maki of Just Hungry answers the question "What Japanese Herbs are fun to grow in a home garden?"
"What's the best way to make risotto?" is what Tanna's pondering at My Kitchen in Half Cups.
Anh of Food Lover's Journey answered my question of "What is Laksa and how do you make it?"
I hadn't really thought about it, but "What's an authentic dish to serve for Cinco de Mayo?" was answered beautifully by Lisa of Homesick Texan.
If you're ever wondered "How do you make hollandaise sauce?" Meeta from What's For Lunch, Honey? has the answer.
And finally, if you've ever wanted to know "How do you cut up a whole chicken?" Amy at Nook and Pantry has the answer with wonderful step-by-step photos.
Food Editor Kalyn Denny also blogs at Kalyn's Kitchen, where she's answered "Can you freeze fresh basil?" and "How do you make pot roast in a Crockpot?"

Frozen Fish
Well, hooray. I DID wonder about frozen fish and now I know, thanks very much! Fat fish? Okay. Skinny fish? Not so much so. Good to know. Really. Next please? Farm raised vs. wild fish, okay?

I'll watch for people writing about it!
Pam, I'm glad I'm not the only one worrying about these kinds of things! I'll watch for bloggers writing about the farm raised vs. wild fish angle. One thing I did learn recently is that farm raised Tilapia is on the "good fish" list because Tilapia are vegetarian fish (who knew there were vegetarian fish?) so they can be raised without having to use other fish as food.

Fish Obsessed
I cook and blog about eating fish once a week. And I've been doing a mess of reading about eating fish - what's okay, what's not. I walked away from the farm raised Atlantic salmon but we did buy US farm raised Tilapia the other day and it was VERY good...
