Does anyone like to diet? Don't you hate saying the words..."I'm on a diet"? Did you ever notice the word "die" is in diet? Do you think that could be because you feel like you want to die when you are on a diet? Maybe if we could just call it something else it wouldn't be so bad? Maybe a name that has the word "happy" or "fun" in it? Really, anything but "die" would be fine.
What I am looking for is a name that says; "I'm eating healthy." - "I enjoy fruits and vegetables." - "Love is...Long walks on the beach eating carrots." - "My body is a temple, not a gingerbread house." - "Whole grains are my friend." - "Just say no to high-fructose." - "Beans, beans, they're good for your heart." Well, that's the idea...now we just need a name. All suggestions welcome.
For now...Let's just call it, "Spring Cleaning for the Fridge". THE PLAN: Take all the bad stuff out, and fill it up with a bunch of good stuff. And just in case your not sure exactly what the good stuff is; surf on over to some of these great blogs from the BlogHer Blogroll....
The first one is Greens and Grains, lots of yummy and healthy recipes. My personal favorite, the Orange Broiled Salmon. Just make sure you remember to use the Wild Salmon, and not the tame stuff.
This next one has a post describing the process of Purging Your Fridge; Let's face it, that is a must read for optimal spring cleaning of the fridge. This great post and many others at Billie Sinclair's Optimum Health Strategies.
Last but certainly not least, Eve's Health & Fitness blog. If you are serious about having whole grains as your friend, you really need to read...What is a whole grain?.
O.k. I did my job. Who came up with a new name for the "D" word?

Great post, Catherine!
It's all about lifestyle! I wish I could think up a good replacement word for "diet," but my brain is mush this morning. I know that when I get into bad food habits and begin to start eating well once more, I feel so energized, positive, and ready to take on the world! Good food simply feels good.

So true....
That is so true. Starting is the hardest part, but once I start eating healthy food I feel so much better. It also seems easier to resist the sweet treats when I'm eating healthy.
