by Sarah

Conratulations to Lorena Ochoa who was awarded the Associated Press award for Sportswoman of the year last week.

Ochoa is a 25 year old golfer who was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She won all the major honors in the LPGA this year.

According to SI.com:

She received 220 points in voting from sports editors around the country, double the point total of French tennis player Amelie Mauresmo, who captured Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

Very impressive!
