10/26: BlogHer Meetup in Seattle
by Elisa Camahort

Time for a BlogHer meet-up outside of Silicon Valley!

Since Jory and I are both headed to Seattle at the end of this month for the Blog Business Summit, we figured it was the perfect opportunity. And the kind folks at Blog Business Summit kicked in to make it really worth a BlogHer's while to show up. They're letting any BlogHer join their hosted evening reception for the Blog Business Summit, simply by uttering the super-secret password ("BlogHer Meet-up"...sneaky, huh?) Here are the deets:

WHEN: October 26th, 2006
TIME: 6:00PM-7:30PM (and then it's off to the nearest bar!)
WHERE: Bell Harbor Conference Center: Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center
2211 Alaskan Way, Pier 66
Seattle, WA 98121

EVENT: The Blog Business Summit welcome reception
HOSTED: Bar and Hors D'ouevres
SUPER-SECRET PASSWORD: BlogHer Meet-up

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Do I need to be attending the conference or a business blogger to use the super-secret password and attend the meet-up

A. No! All Seattle-area BlogHers should show up and crash the Business Blogging party!

Q. Well, what if I do want to attend the Conference...is it too late?

A. Actually, no. The BBS folks still have room and if you use another code, BH06SJ, you can get $100 off the registration fee for any package (regular package prices are: Full Day Pre-Conference Workshop on 10/25 = $395.00; Full Two-Day Conference on 10/26-10/27 = $695.00; All three days = $995.00.)

Q. Why are you two going, and are any other BlogHers going to be there?

A. Why, thank you for asking. Jory's participating on two panels; I'm participating on one, and numerous other BlogHers are participating too, including Mary Hodder, Tara Hunt, Ponzi Indharasophang, Liz Lawley, Maryam Scoble and Halley Suitt. The schedule deets are here.

Q. What will we do at this meet-up?

A. We will convene, connect names/URLs to faces, drink cocktails, eat crudite, take it to the bar when we get kicked out for being rowdy and, oh yeah, collect any and all feedback you might want to share about the site, the conferences, the ad network, the works.

So, who's in? Leave a comment here if you plan to join us, so we can be on the look-out!

I'm there!

I am so there. I get back to the US on October 18th and my jetlag should gone almost exactly then!

Also, need advice/recommendations on what to eat, where to go, etc... when you're not in the conference? Just ask.

Looking forward to seeing you in 3-D!

Holy crap, did you say

Holy crap, did you say crudites? I am there.

I'll be at the blog biz summit for work...

...so I'll see you all there!

Fantastic!

I'm so excited to meet everyone! It'll be great to see folks in person and catch up. I've been away for a while & need some serious BlogHer time.

Thanks to BlogHer & Blog Business Summit for organizing this.

Hopefully

I'll see what I can make happen. I didn't get to speak with you or Jory much at BlogHer. It would be great to meet up when you're in my home town.

DC area?

Is there one of these for the DC area on deck in the forseeable future??? If I beg pitifully and provide bribes in the form of baked goods will someone put one together?

Well, I'll be in DC on 12/11

Do you know the Downtown Women's Club? They're having an event on December 11th, and I'm giving a talk on blogging (plus they're will be cocktails and noshing and stuff too, I'm sure.) I don't see why the DWC wouldn't be thrilled to have a buncha BLogHers represent :)

DC in December

Elisa,

Let me know if we are really welcome at the talk. I'd love to come if it is cool.

Pretty sure it's open, but...

I will definitely check. I've emailed the organizer and will let you know what she says.

It's definitly an open event

The organizer said all BlogHers are welcome at the DC event on 12/11. That being said, I don't know yet if it is free, or if there's some door charge to cover the festivities.

I'll keep you posted.

Hooray for DC!

I may have just caused myself serious injury, so energetic was the ecstatic booty dancing I did upon reading about a December event in DC. A door charge couldn't keep me away.. Hell, a pack of rampaging coyotes (or congressmen, which is much more likely around these parts) could not keep me from being there!

Could one of the mods start a new "official" thread to spread the word?

Thus, of course, increasing the likelyhood that I will have the opportunity to embarrass myself by gushing in an exquisitely akward way over my favorite local bloghers.

Joyous!

I'm there, too!

How exciting. I didn't get a chance to go to BlogHer '06 (or '05 for that matter) and look forward to swapping stories and getting to know other bloggers.

See you all there,

BlogHer Business Conference NY

Hi All - are there any details on where the blogher business conference will be held in NY? When can we expect to see registration info?
Can't wait to go to the conference and meet all of the rest of you.

Thanks for any info, elizabeth

Announcement will come after Thanksgiving

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for asking.

We're working on the contract with the venue and firming up our programming. We expect to announce that and open registration after Thanksgiving.

Stay tuned...
