Terry at I See Invisible People blogs about a new camera that can slim your body. She writes, "There's a lot to be said for body-acceptance at any size. It bothers me to see a product aimed at exploiting our insecurity."
Do you think you would use this technology?
Echidne of the Snakes tears apart a newspaper column in "John Tierney, The Scientist of Sex Differences". She opens with general commentary:
"The New York Times does have an interesting stable of conservative columnists. I've mentioned this before, but I still find it astonishing that the two best known wingnuts there, David Brooks and John Tierney, throw out so many column inches on the topic of women's rights. You might even think that this is some odd kind of affirmative action for male feminists. Except that neither Tierney nor Brooks ever writes in support of women."
Many bloggers are writing about the National Academy of Sciences report on women in the sciences. Radioactive Banana is one of them.
But I'm not highlighting that particular post. Oh no. I'm pointing to Radioactive Banana, aka Kristin Abkemeier, for her thoughts on Mary, a new book about Mary Todd Lincoln.
"I grew up in Illinois, the 'Land of Lincoln'," she writes, "yet all I know about Mrs. Lincoln was that she was sent to an insane asylum later on and didn't seem to be much liked."
Visit her blog to find out how Mary Todd Lincoln got "a bum rap from history".

Skinny pictures
Well, it only makes you look slimmer in photos, so unless you want to impress someone online with your hot bod, what's the point? I don't really see it as motivation tool for dieting. Is that what they're marketing it as? File it under "what the hell were they thinking?" I guess.
Does it come with an instant boob job plug in?
Rage Is Good Food
Sadly, very marketable
I actually saw the camera on the today show. I think it was a couple months ago. Anyhow, people seemed pretty psyched about
it. I was, and still, am very disturbed by that camera. What's the point other than sending bad messages about our body images? Instead of spending money on that camera, why not just cut yourself out of the picture and put in Cindy Crawford sitting next to your kids? Seriously, where's it going to end?

The "shrinking" camera...
Would I use that "shrinking" camera? Heck no!! Look closely at that photo. Not only did it make the body thinner, but her gorgeous thick hair was "thinned" too!! Mine is thin enough, TYVM.
