My Mum Has Started a Blog!

Does that make her a "Mommy Blogger"?

When she retired a few weeks ago, my mum, Christine, announced she wanted to start her own blog. She calls it Ms Cellania. I am very excited and proud that she, a woman in her 60s, should embrace new technology with such fervour...

...I am also a little bit nervous. What is she going to expose there about me? I know the issue of Blogging Parents and Privacy has been raised on Blogher before. But now I feel the tables are being turned.

I love getting to know a different side to my mum through her writing - something I have not experienced before in all my 40 years of knowing her. But I will be reading her a little bit gingerly at first, nervously anticipating the embarassing stories I am convinced are going to turn up there sooner or later.

Like mother, like daughter, she seems to be including a healthy number of partially food related posts so far, and that I do like.

My mom asked me to help her start a blog, but then she chickened out at the last minute.

Too Cool

Very cool that your mom has her own blog now. Hopefully she won't reveal too many family secrets!

kpfertto - maybe you could

kpfertto - maybe you could point your mum to my mum to give her a bit of encouragement! I am so pleased she is doing it and I think she is too.

Kalyn - she better not.

She explained blogs to me!

My 60 year old mother explained what a blog was to ME a couple years ago. I had never even heard of them and she was blogging away. That's great that your mom started up her own blog!

How fun!

How cool that you get to discover this whole other side of your Mom ... the picture of her in your post, spitting image of you.

A Peek into The Past

Sam I keep checking, but other than that one bad haircut, your mom hasn't really said anything bad about you yet!! (Fun seeing how you looked as a kid. And if you think that's a bad haircut, you should see my photos at that age.)

secrets from mom...

i'm convinced my mom started the first blog in 1972 -- well, except that hers was done in hard copy... she has a family newsletter that she does on her typewriter then sends out to everybody. she's completely resistant to computers, so i have started a blog to post her hard copy newsletter. trick is, she has no idea i'm doing this. check it out at Gini's Smiles.
