With the conference now just two days away, some of you may be wondering, "Hey, ah...where am I going, exactly?"

Which is a good question.

Yes, the conference is located at the Navy Pier, but the Pier is a very big place. And is almost a mile long.

The Grand Ballroom -- where registration and our first session will be taking place -- is located at the very far end of it:

Shuttles will be available from the Chicago City Centre and W Lakeshore Hotels, and they will drop off in front of the Ballroom.

From there, you have a few options. See the snapshot of the conference brochure below for reference (if you right click and download the image, you can print it):

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Taxi to Ballroom?

Coming directly from the airport and staying at the hostel. Can we take a taxi all the way to the Ballroom? Or is there some other sort of shuttle on the Pier? Thx!

Yes, Absolutely

You can definitely take a cab all the way to the ballroom. For reference, the shuttles will be dropping off at Ballroom Entrance #2.

See you there!

Luggage?

I'm arriving in the morning on Friday and will be going straight to the ballroom. Is there a spot to hold a suitcase for the day?

Thanks!

ThreeSeven... attention deficits at work.

just found out about the conference on Gapers
block

is it too late to register for any sessions or days? I'm a new blogger and didn't know about you until this week.

Come at 9AM to register on site, bring your
credit card

We will start taking on-site registrations at 9AM tomorrow until we run out of room. I'd say we could fit another 50 or so people if we add a few more tables. So come on by!!

We will only take credit card registrations.

What is the status of the food?

I saw in the paper that the Grand Ballroom isn't allowed to do food prep.

Update: Obviously, the food people are doing the best they can. Breakfast and lunch were fine. And the coffee has been good and strong.

Food more than fine...

The food situation seems to be much better for this conference than last year. There are multiple buffet tables set out so if you're willing to walk to the back of the ballroom, there are few lines and full serving dishes.

Last night's cocktail party appetizers were a huge hit with every single person I spoke to. (Our 13 year old particularly enjoyed following the servers around and eating everything they offered. His only issue was the sushi went too fast - he wanted more sushiiiiiii lol)
