Hello - I'm a "green" Consumer Advocate first and Sales and Marketing professional second. From those two, a third role as an "eco-lutionary" has evolved. More and more I find myself in the middle acting as a connector between eco-groups and economic groups. I'll talk to any women's gathering that wants to be know more about their new role in transforming the market. I'll also educate any business group or company in what it means to be truly Sustainable and how it can add cash to the bottom line, not take it away.
I believe that if a product and its support services are not Sustainable, then they shouldn't be promoted during this critical, global warming time. I also believe that women consumers will be the "climate change agents" that the world needs. The power of the purse and the post will flip the market. Women influence over 80% of all consumer purchases; consequently, we have the ear of business who is now willing to listen. We can easily turn the market in a green direction. Both sides of the buyer/seller equation win.
Past and present work includes, B2B and B2C sales and marketing with an emphasis on women friendly - earth friendly products. I'm currently working with MTS a non-profit in D.C. which is behind the SMART Sustainable Standard, Channel Logic and the Sustainable Furniture Council. The later two are dedicated to the building and promotion of only sustainable furniture. The SMART Sustainable Standard covers 60% of all products.
I struggle just like everyone else, trying to incorporate more sustainable products and lifestyle into my life. I'm passionate about getting to the day when being green is as pervasive and easy as grocery shopping.
Until then, you'll find me at my desk or gardening with my teen moms. We raise organic vegetables which gives us expendable tomatoes and zuchinni to experiment on and learn how to cook. I don't have kids of my own so working with these young moms keeps me focused and pumped to continue promoting a sustainable world.
If this is your passion as well, give me a call. I'll happily collaborate and cross support any project that helps women and the market become greener together.
