BlogHer '08 is getting off to a bang! First, let me say, the ladies are looking fabulous! I have seen many hot summer fashions with many metallic accessories. Bronze is smoking hot right now! We are also being treated to the sight of ridiculously-high wedges that women are somehow impressively able to walk in, albeit not far (I love them!). Many women are also rocking the cool casual looks.Bronze is everywhere!
So, you're off, are you? If you can tear yourself away from the conference, San Francisco is a terrific city. In fact, one might accuse the BlogHer organizers of being a little heartless in making you choose between that choice session about [your favorite topic here] and heading up to North Beach to drink coffee and window shop. Make time for that wonderful city, it's a West Coast gem.

For over a year now, I have been traveling and going to professional conferences as a person with a disability, a wheelchair and crutches user. Abilities and disabilities vary wildly. My own issues are most often bathrooms, distances, exhaustion, and stairs. I am less aware of issues and solutions for people with visual impairments and for the deaf or hearing impaired community; I apologize for not addressing those issues here.
If you have mobility issues and wonder about the accessible geography of the conference, I have a ton of information!
We're thinking about getting a dog, or a cat, or both. I can't decide. In my surfing around for adoption opportunities, I came across the incredible story of Pali Boucher, the founder of Rocket Dog Rescue in San Francisco.
