The online world changed for me this year. I discovered the handheld — or rather what the handheld promises to be. I had a Palm 700p before. It was a good phone. Qwerty keyboard. Great reception. Worked just about anywhere. But after more than 2 years with the Palm, I just had to try the iPhone, the multitouch interface, the motion sensor. But I had no idea what worlds would be opened up over the months since — mostly not by Apple directly, but by the creative minds creating some applications that strike me as almost mind-blowing.
Last week I discussed my love of my new iPhone 3G and the free applications I had downloaded and loved. This week I want to introduce you to the few paid applications I’ve downloaded. I am generally cheap and don’t like to pay for applications, so this list is a bit shorter than my previous one on free applications.
Paid iPhone 3G Applications
I have had my 3G iPhone for about two weeks. In that time I have fallen truly, madly, deeply in love. My whole life I have bought the cheapest phone on the cheapest plan. No longer. I am in iPhone heaven.
Why I Love My iPhone Applications
For the last couple of weeks, rumors of a new iPhone have been rampant. Apple.com and ATT stores are sold out, phones are unavailable. All this leads to speculation that a new and improved version is on the way. It must be coming soon, too, or retail stores would still be stocking plenty of the existing model. In fact, Gizmodo claims to have confirmation that the new iPhone will be announced June 9, and released immediately after.
What the heck happened? 2007 is almost over already? Before we (in the U.S.) get smothered by the rising tide of an election year, I thought it might be fun to look back at some of the defining moments and trends of 2007.
