I love how blogging connects you with people who have like-minded interests all over the world, but nothing beats meeting people in person. For the past two days I've gotten to spend time at the NetSquared Conference with my Social Change, Nonprofits and NGOs Co-Editor , and fellow NetSquared blogger, Beth Kanter of Beth's Blog.Seems like there is a group of readers who read both of our BlogHer Blogs, and our personal blogs, so I thought I'd let you know when we'll be at the same place at the same time over the next couple months so we can meet you (:

For over a year now, I have been traveling and going to professional conferences as a person with a disability, a wheelchair and crutches user. Abilities and disabilities vary wildly. My own issues are most often bathrooms, distances, exhaustion, and stairs. I am less aware of issues and solutions for people with visual impairments and for the deaf or hearing impaired community; I apologize for not addressing those issues here.
If you have mobility issues and wonder about the accessible geography of the conference, I have a ton of information!
The screengrab team is tired, but Greg's still editing. It's been a long day full of learning, interaction, blogging, and soon-to-be drinking.

I just got off of I-95, returning from the Converge South conference on the campus of North Carolina A & T University, an historically black university in Greensboro, North Carolina - a city that will be a stop on the BlogHer 2008 Reach Out Tour.
We reviewed the survey, compiled the poll results, read your blog posts and comments, and we are ready to unveil our BlogHer in 2008 plans...this coming Thursday, September 27th at 9AM Pacific time.
And we'd like to do it live and "in person" on a community conference call. We'll take about 15 minutes to outline our entire schedule for 2008, and then we'll have time for Q&A as well. As soon as the call is over we'll push the info live in a blog post and press release too, so don't worry if you can't make it. You won't have to wait too long for the info.
