As of today, we are six weeks away from the beginning of BlogHer '08 on Friday, July 18th. And we have only 150 slots open for registration. BlogHer Tools: Get Comment Notification via Email

by Denise at 5:41pm Wed, 26 Mar 2008 under Web site, blogher, comments, email, updates
Great News! Email notification for comments has arrived (or come back if you remember the brief moment in time when we offered this feature on the "old" BlogHer.) Many of you have asked us to return this service and, now that we've worked the bugs out, we are very happy to offer it. Here's how it works: You can now subscribe to blog posts you make on BlogHer and comments will be emailed to you. You can also have comments emailed to you from blog posts you didn't write but have commented on. Are you confused? Don't worry, it sounds more confusing than it is. The first thing you need to do is decide whether you want to "auto subscribe" to the blog posts that you write on BlogHer or whether you want to subscribe to just some of your blog posts. If you want to subscribe on a case by case basis then you simply click the checkbox next to "subscribe" in the subscription menu that's been added to the "Blog Entry" module. (It's right underneath the "input format" menu.)

Newsflash: Heather Armstrong to speak (and celebrate her birthday) at BlogHer '08

Hot on the heels of her quadruple-win at the 2008 Weblog Awards, I am pleased to announce that Heather Armstrong (aka Dooce) is returning to BlogHer '08 this July in San Francisco. Heather was part of the very first BlogHer "Naked" session at the inaugural conference in 2005, and spoke about the ups, downs and late nights of monetizing your blog in 2006.

Remembering the DeLorean Motor Car

I had been shopping at the local Fry's Computer store recently, buying a new flat screen computer monitor and various other supplies to assist running some of the day-to-day tasks at AskPatty.com. I was walking through the parking lot on my way back to my car when I saw something very rare parked among the vehicles there.
