Keep up with all the great new food blogs? Ha -- it's an impossible task. Some times, I scan an event round-up and not a single food blog name is familiar. But discovering new food blogs is as much fun as scoring a long sought-after ingredient. So it's fun to browse the blogrolls, just to see who's new, who's interesting, who's fun, who's compelling. Here are some new (or at least, new to me) blogs I found recently. Consider this post the "five a day" of food blogs, they're good for ya, doctor's orders.
Yummy in my Tummy ~ One more ex pat, this time an English woman living in Belgium, try her speculoos, a traditional Belgian cookie.
Heaven is Chocolate, Cheese and Carbs ~ This single New Yorker is perhaps an unlikely food blogger since she's a picky eater and has no real cooking experience. But just look what she's baking, like Cheesy Braid Loaf.
Doing Better ~ A San Francisco mother of nearly eight-year old twins cooks up kid-friendly food (at least in name), check out Yoda's Ice Cream. (Now you understand why Darth Vader is in the ice cream bowl!)
A Cookie a Day ~ Briana is a busy North Carolina mom. Is it any wonder she blogs about easy meals to freeze?
Fearless Kitchen ~ This Boston-area blog aims to help cooks gain confidence in their kitchens. One feature of this blog that deserves a high five? Most recipes includes cost per serving! Check out Chile-Braised Chicken with Potatoes & Greens.
What's the best way to discover great new food blogs -- and better yet, great new recipes? Just search for an ingredient you have on hand over at , the search engine of hand-picked scratch cooking food blogs designed by food bloggers for all food blog lovers.
Way back in 2006, BlogHer food editor Alanna Kellogg invited a new blogger to write a
guest post. Turns out, Susan Voisin is now a celebrity chef.

Great Idea!
And I have not heard of even one of these blogs!
I keep having that same experience where I read an event round-up and not even one of the blogs is one I'm familiar with. And I am trying to keep up on them. It must be frustrating to be a new blogger these days.
I hope you're doing this as a regular feature.

It would be even more fun...
to have some means of cyber sampling the foods. Someone hurry up and invent the Star Trek transporter, eh?
Seriously, I'm heading straight for a diet, not a crash one, but a sea change one. I've gained 20 pounds over the last 5 years and this nonsense has to stop... so in the coming months fully intend to make use of food blogs and what you and others write about.
