by no_I_am_zoe at 1:23am Thu, 9 Oct 2008 under Life, GLBT
Saturday, October 11th, is National Coming Out Day. National Coming Out Day has been celebrated every October 11 since 1988, as a way commemorate the first March on Washington for Gay and Lesbian Rights, which was in October of 1987. The primary goal of National Coming Out Day is to gain visibility of GLBT people in the communities we live in, and to promote awareness of GLBT issues. Cities across the country are holding events to celebrate the day.

Back in March, I wrote about how Betty Please and I were making a plan and working to accomplish a few goals so we could start trying to build a family in the near future. Probably in the fall. I'm not sure where the time went, but the near future, is here. Holy cow!

The B in GLBT

September 23, was the Ninth Annual Celebrate Bisexuality Day, and I missed it. Actually, I was not aware of its existence until I caught up on reading through my bloglines earlier today. The odd coincidence is that I had already planned on writing a post on bisexuality today. So what is Celebrate Bisexuality Day anyway, you ask. It's a day to celebrate and increase bisexual visibility, of course. Sue Hyde wrote a nice piece, posted at The Bilerico Project, saluting bisexual leaders.

"Itty Bitty Titty Committee" Worth a Watch

by no_I_am_zoe at 2:41am Thu, 11 Sep 2008 under Life, GLBT
Over the weekend we rented the movie Itty Bitty Titty Committee (watch trailer). We'd been waiting for it to come out on DVD for a long time, so we were pretty excited, and somewhat surprised, to find it in stock at the video store on Saturday night. Maybe we're the only lesbians in town who aren't Netflix people, or maybe everyone else ran out and bought it right away.
