What LaBruzzo doesn't get

Feminists are all over but the shoutin' about Louisiana state representative John LaBruzzo's proposed plan to pay poor people $1,000 to have a tubal ligation or vasectomy. For people out there who don't know why many feminists are ticked off by this proposal, here is some perspective:

My friend Laurie Ruettimann of Punk Rock HR tipped me off to the Family Violence Prevention Fund's (FVPF) latest initiative called RESPECT!. If you haven't heard of the FVPF before, I encourage you to read about them at their site as well as Charity Navigator, where they have received a four-star rating (meaning they exceed industry standards and outperform most charities in the same "cause" category).
